Sorry for the blog lag. Zoe has been very pleasant during the day, but her nights are just messed up. It has been taking us a while to get her to sleep, and then the last 3 or 4 nights she’s been waking up around 4 in the morning. Breastfeeding her doesn’t get her back to sleep either. The one morning it took me 2 1/2 hours to get her sleeping, and I eventually just brought her into bed (Bryan had left for work around 3:30 am). She just is awake, not hungry. It’s been very tiring and not a good time as Bryan is trying to get an upgrade and so is working crazy hours and really needs to study not mess with the kid. I get frustrated when feeding her doesn’t work. I’ve always felt like that was the ONE thing that ALWAYS worked…my one little saving grace. Now it’s not working. Last night it only took an hour for me to get her back to sleep. I didn’t even attempt to feed her; I don’t want that to become a routine. I just walked around with her on my shoulder until she stopped crying and then held her in my arms until she fell asleep. The trick seems to be her finding her own thumb. I hope she figures out that she can do that on her own. On a happier note, she is doing great eating and playing. She’s eating all kinds of veggies, grains, and now fruit. Recently she discovered she liked avocados, but didn’t enjoy apples. I also made a little play tent for her that I throw her toys into so she can try to schrooch into it. She’s actually become really fun to hang out with during the day.
