Went to the Osan base wide holiday party at the Oclub this evening. My first stop was to check the boards for winners of the “12 days of Christmas” competition. For the prior 12 days there has been a fun event or deal on base and participants can fill in an entry for the prizes! We did quite a few things: the kickoff breakfast, .51c coffee and donuts at Rickenbackers, CDC festival, library story time, and .51 pancakes at Checkertails! Well all that participation paid off as I saw my name on the winners board! Not the big prize (a plane ticket), but still a nice $100 in FSS (Force Support Squadron) bucks will pay for more fun stuff.
There was lots of food and entertainment, plus drawings for other awards every half hour…I didn’t win one of those, but we were listening hard! The kids wanted to watch the handbell choir and get some food at first. Then we went to the fun kid area in the back to play games and craft. Bryan joined us from work and we moseyed back to the stage for the rest of the entertainment: a magic show, a bubble show, an electric strings trio, and some line dancing. The kids LOVE line dancing: NOT country line dancing….the electric slide and whatnot.
